About us.

The Fabrication Laboratory (Fab Lab) of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) in Bangladesh is a modern innovation space designed to promote hands-on learning, research, and technological development. Located within the university campus in Dhaka, the lab supports students, researchers, and faculty members in transforming their ideas into practical solutions, especially in the fields of agriculture and engineering. The Fab Lab is equipped with advanced digital fabrication tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and electronics prototyping equipment. These facilities enable users to design, prototype, and test a wide range of products, including smart farming devices, automated irrigation systems, and low-cost agricultural machinery. By integrating modern technology with agricultural practices, the lab plays a key role in advancing precision agriculture and sustainable farming solutions in Bangladesh. Beyond technical facilities, the Fab Lab fosters a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment. Students from different departments work together on innovative projects, encouraging creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The lab also organizes workshops, training programs, and competitions to enhance participants’ practical knowledge and technical expertise. Additionally, the Fab Lab contributes to research and community development by supporting projects aimed at improving rural livelihoods and agricultural productivity. Through innovation and applied research, it helps address real-world challenges faced by farmers and agricultural industries in Bangladesh. Overall, the Fabrication Laboratory at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University serves as a vital platform for innovation, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application while promoting sustainable technological advancement.
